FURNITURE DESIGN

A lifetime ago, I left architecture to pursue furniture design. I enjoyed the scale and intimacy that a piece of furniture offered. The process stands in stark contrast to complexity of designing a room, building or city.

As fate would have it, I now run a company that designs and builds contemporary architectural details out of glass and steel. It’s an intensely collaborative process and the final products are the result of a group effort by a very talented group of individuals (My team and I).

Every now and then I just want to go work on something small and personal. I like the feel and variation of wood. I like designing connections and using materials in unusual ways; colliding styles from different eras and incorporating unexpected colours to create something...different.
